Finally, after decades in the wilderness, progressive-thinking Americans have come in from the cold. What, exactly, was the sin that had banished us into political isolation? It was the sin that dare not speak its name: we had once called ourselves "liberals."
But that way of thinking is so ... totally ... Twentieth Century! It's time to cast aside our shame and talk openly and honestly about issues that matter: social justice, fiscal responsibilty, the environment, government reform, business ethics, and so on.
And maybe, just maybe, we can inject a little humor into the public discourse. If humor is medicine, America can use all the humor it can find.
